Conclusions: Interpretation
- Consistent with a thinned LAB (!!!)
The lithosphere was thick (190 km) in Eocene ->
- The thermal event that led to diamondiferous kimberlite emplacement in the LdG region removed the lithospheric mantle since that time (ongoing?) ?
- Correlates with other highly anomalous feature -
Cpx-poor ultra-depleted harzburgite layer
What does this mean?
graphite? hydrated oceanic mantle?
