SCLM resistivity resolution
- Can determine well the SCLM’s thickness (i.e., depth to LAB).
- Usually cannot determine the actual resistivity of the SCLM (especially directly below the Moho) due to the screening effect of the conducting material in the crustal column.
- Only where the crust is highly resistive do we have a hope of obtaining the true resistivity of the sub-Moho SCLM.
- Only two places in the world where this is the case. Southern Slave craton and Rae domain. Both on Canadian Shield.
